Calling all Artists
Make your mark on this momentous art trail by submitting a pandastic design for one of our 30–40 large panda sculptures. Each large panda sculpture will be auctioned at the end of the trail to raise vital funds for Addenbrooke’s Charity.
How do I get involved?
Pandas are beloved, gentle creatures, symbolising strength, peace, hope and gentleness. They also symbolise nurturing and healing qualities and in Chinese culture pandas are national symbols of harmony and friendship, and we look forward to receiving designs that reflect these characteristics.
We especially welcome designs from artists within our Hospitals’ geographies (Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire and Essex), as we are aiming for 75% of our sculptures to celebrate and be a platform for local talent.
It is important that our trail is inclusive to all – we welcome designs from artists who represent inclusivity and we would love to feature a tactile/sensory panda
or two that may appeal to children with additional need
OurArtist Pack can be downloaded below which contains important information, please read in full before creating your design.
Designs must be created on the sculpture template, these can be downloaded below and then submitted via the form at the bottom of this page.
You must make sure that your design keeps the panda’s ears, eyes and nose black.

“It was a real honour to be invited by Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust to design the Hero Panda. Having enjoyed Wild in Art trails with my daughter, it felt especially meaningful to be part of one so close to home. Translating my illustration work onto a sculptural form was a unique and rewarding challenge, and being able to reflect the character of Cambridge in the design made it even more special. Seeing my daughter’s excitement for the finished piece has been a highlight – and I can’t wait to see the trail come to life.”
